LAND OF VINEYARDS
Our land represents the culture of wine, culture that walks hand in hand with leisure and pleasure, although with interesting influences in art, traditions and literature. Wine has an influence on the culture of people, and the harvesting festival, which takes place towards the beginning of September, is celebrated in many of our towns and villages. The culture of wine is one that is recognized and considered to be of national interest. Hence it is due to this reason that at the Foundation Castilla-La Mancha, Tierra de Viñedos we are very pleased to know that by pampering the quality of our wines, we are benefiting our own culture and our people.
The importance of cultivating the vine in Castilla-La Mancha is inestimable, and the economic impact that professionalization of our crops is having on our region and the competitiveness of our wines is promoting economic development of the entire community. A truly important part of our economy literally grows in our soil. Our lands represent the greatest wine-growing region in the world, with more than 400,000 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of the vine.
In Castilla-La Mancha we are truly fortunate. The climate and geographical position we enjoy assures perfect ripening of the fruits. Our land is ideal for the cultivation of the vine, as is the vine ideal for our land. And we must not forget the increasing importance of organic vine cultivation, growth that translates into more than 14,000 hectares of land dedicated to this modality of crops, placing Castilla-La Mancha at the forefront of the Spanish communities. Thus we can certainly say that in Castilla-La Mancha, investing in the vine is investing in life.
We like being Castellano-Manchegos, because the people of Castilla-La Mancha are open, free and happy. We are people that know how to enjoy life; we love our land and the fruits it offers us. The people that grow up in our land know how to live through wine. Wine is complacent and turns any moment into true enjoyment and gratification.
